CMP INSPIRATION

Designed by renowned architect Kengo Kuma as his first cultural venue in Taiwan, CMP INSPIRATION embodies the concept of ‘unveiling the earth’ with flowing arabesque patterns that seamlessly connect to the surrounding neighborhood. The interior’s dynamic curves and transparency create a distinctive, mountain-inspired spatial experience.

In line with the CMP Cultural & Arts Foundation’s mission, CMP INSPIRATION celebrates imagination, nurturing creativity through innovation and cross-disciplinary collaboration.

Calligraphy Greenway

Located in Taichung’s West District, this street seamlessly blends nature, art, fashion, and cuisine amid lush greenery. Stretching 3.6 km from the National Museum of Natural Science to the National Taiwan Museum of Fine Arts, its fluid layout fosters diverse styles and unique alley cultures along Calligraphy Greenway.

National Museum of Natural Science

The National Museum of Natural Science, Taiwan’s first science museum, is located at the northern end of Calligraphy Greenway. It features extensive collections and interactive exhibits across six main sections, offering an engaging experience for both children and adults alike.

National Museum of Fine Arts

Located in the West District of Taichung, Taiwan, the National Taiwan Museum of Fine Arts (NTMoFA) was established in 1988 and is the first and only national-level fine arts museum in Taiwan. Its major collections focus on works by Taiwanese artists, spanning modern and contemporary Taiwanese art. The museum covers 102,000 square meters, including the Public Outdoor Sculpture Park, making it one of the largest museums in Asia.

National Taichung Theater

The Taichung Opera House, designed by Toyo Ito, is an architectural landmark in Taichung’s Xitun District, Taiwan. Spanning 57,685 square meters, it features an innovative design with no beams or columns, housing theaters, dining spaces, and a rooftop garden.

Feng Chia Night Market

Feng Chia Night Market, located near Feng Chia University in Taichung, is renowned for its diverse offerings and vibrant atmosphere. Open late into the night, it is a popular destination for young adults and is considered one of Taiwan’s largest night markets. In 2010, it was honored as Taiwan’s Most Beautiful Night Market.

Gaomei Wetland

Located on Taiwan’s west coast in QingShui District, Taichung City, the Gaomei Wetlands serve as an ecological preservation area. Situated at the Dajia River estuary, this coastal wetland is shaped by the interplay of freshwater and tidal changes. Originally a seaside resort, the area has transformed into a stunning landscape of sandbars and tidal flats due to sediment from the Dajia River.

Lecheng Temple

Located in the East District of Taichung City, Taiwan, this temple is dedicated to Mazu, the sea goddess. Revered as the ‘Hanxi Mazu,’ the temple’s name is derived from the nearby Han River, further linking the goddess to the region’s maritime heritage.

Dajia Zhenlan Palace

Also known as Zhenlan Temple or Mazu Temple, this sacred site is dedicated to Mazu, the Chinese Goddess of the Sea and Patron Deity of fishermen, sailors, and all sea-related occupations. Located in the Dajia District of Taichung, Taiwan, the temple is renowned as the starting point of the Dajia Mazu Pilgrimage, an annual celebration honoring the sea goddess.

Taichung Park

Located in the North District of Taichung City, Taichung Park is the city’s oldest urban park, established during the Japanese colonial period. Spanning approximately 32,889 square meters, it is home to the iconic Hu Xin Pavilion, situated in the middle of the lake, which has become a significant symbol of Taichung City. Over the years, the park has incorporated numerous historical-themed memorials, transforming it into a space that showcases the rich history of Taichung.

Dakeng Scenic Area

Dakeng is renowned for its diverse mountain biking and hiking trails, all managed by the Taichung City Government. There are a total of 10 trails, each offering varying levels of difficulty in terms of ascent and descent. Trails 6-10 are relatively flatter, making them ideal for beginners, while Trails 1-5 feature steeper inclines and provide a more challenging experience for seasoned hikers and bikers.
