Beginning with the 2026 Taichung Jazz Festival, as jazz drifts from Civic Square into the hotel, InterContinental Taichung extends this city experience into the stay itself. We have invited BLACK DESIGN to bring a way of living shaped by nature, mountain forests and travel into our guest rooms, creating the BEYOND THE STAY BLACK DESIGN themed rooms, where furniture, lighting and textiles are not simply displayed, but are meant to be sat upon, touched and lived with.
Several pieces are exclusive designs created for this collaboration, and can be experienced in person only in the BEYOND THE STAY themed spaces at InterContinental Taichung.

In our Deluxe Room, BLACK DESIGN’s way of living and the InterContinental guest room interweave naturally. A BLACK DESIGN artwork sets the tone of the space, while a table lamp, round-table placemat, cushions and a blanket bring the night closer to the shape of everyday life.
Premium Room｜Midtown Suite｜Vista Suite
In the Premium Room, Midtown Suite and Vista Suite, alongside the same artwork, lighting and textiles, you will find an exclusive BLACK DESIGN chair. Settle into it, and feel how design becomes part of every moment of your stay, adding another layer and a lingering note to the night.
